

There are two categories - Mental skills and Agility skills. You could easily modify this to a purely purchase-based system by simply giving players a couple hundred points to distribute among their characters' attributes as they saw fit. Lower rolls get a hefty bonus to them and higher rolls do not, assuring some parity among the attributes. Like 1st Edition Top Secret game, what you roll is modified somewhat. You roll D% for your attributes (Physical Power, Mental Aptitude, Right- and Left-Handed Accuracy, Willpower, Agility, and Presence). The rules are simple to pick up, but you should know that Crimefighters comes from an era when RPGS were written for genres generally well understood already, so it includes virtually no world information.Ĭharacter creation basically is part random, part purchase. I sure didn't when the game came out, but I still had a load of fun playing it. Even if you haven't got a clue as to who these guys are, don'w sweat it. The game emulates the 1930s pulp adventure of characters like the Shadow, the Spider, and Doc Savage. Of course, now that the Dragon CD-ROM is out, simply look this baby up and check it out. No, it was printed entirely in the middle of Dragon Magazine, Issue #47, one of the few I've managed to keep intact over the years.
